A forum for promoting the creative development of China’s bulk commodity trade got underway in Zhangjiagang, Jiangsu province, on June 23 and 24.
An annual get-together of renowned experts, scholars, and entrepreneurs, the forum intends to, using collaborative innovation in various supply chains, develop a win-win situation among trade circulation enterprises, commodity trading markets, and traditional manufacturing industry.
He Liming, president of the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing, shared his ideas on China's economic development pattern and things of most concern to the future development of commodity trading markets.

Huang Ji, mayor of Zhangjiagang, stressed the port city’s ever-important role in promoting the business transformation and upgrading in the Yangtze River Delta region.
He said Zhangjiagang is gearing up to develop a logistics industry where more than 6,000 business owners in fields of wood, grain and oil, chemistry, and textiles are clustered, making an annual trading volume of over 200 billion yuan ($29.3 billion).
The forum also saw Zhangjiagang and China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing achieve an agreement on strategic cooperation. The two sides will further work on supply chain innovation, industrial chain integration, value chain promotion, and new economic development.
