Taking a bite of a watermelon in an air-conditioned room might be one of the best ways to escape the summer heat.
However, children from Nanfeng town in East China's Zhangjiagang city have developed a novel way to treat their favorite summer fruit: watermelon carving.
Under the guidance of volunteers, local children have been eager to try their hands at carving, with some shaping animation figures, while others have created flower and animal-style works.
