Zhangjiagang teams with Nanjing Tech University to build talent training base

Zhangjiagang inked a cooperation agreement with Nanjing Tech University in Jiangsu province on Jan 24 to build an industry academy promoting the city's high-tech research and development.

According to the agreement, the Zhangjiagang government will build an industry academy as a training platform at Shazhou Lake Science and Innovation Park to train high-tech postgraduate students with the support of Nanjiang Tech University.

New energy, new materials and high-end equipment are the key development industries of Zhangjiagang city, and Nanjing Tech University has strong related technical innovation capability.

"The industry academy is set to create a research service platform to provide effective technical services for 20 enterprises in Zhangjiagang city," said Zhu Lifan, Party secretary of Zhangjiagang, at the signing ceremony.

The academy will play a key role in promoting industry education updating in Zhangjiagang and develop into a comprehensive innovation base integrating innovative talent training, transformation of scientific and technological achievements, and technology upgrading.

Rui Hongyan, Party secretary of the university, stressed that it will actively support construction of the academy and help promote the cultivation of talents and market transformation of innovative achievements.

The academy is also expected to build a research pilot platform to realize marketization of new material industry technology achievements.
